In a nutshell: No other part of North America offers so much in such a compact package as Nova Scotia.

Now I Shall Expand

By mere coincidence of geography Nova Scotia can be placed on your list of must-see places. Here are a few facts:

1) Almost an Island: Nova Scotia is almost completely surrounded by water except for a wide”causeway” called the Tantramar Marsh. This means that the ocean is almost completely accessible from wherever you are in the province.

2) Ocean Access: To expand on #2, the ocean is never more than 1/2 away from anywhere in the province.

3) Friendly People:  Everyone says this but in Nova Scotia’s case it is extremely true. These Bluenosers love to show off their province and will go the extra mile for travelers.

4) Abundant Activities: Here’s the role: sailing, hiking, sea kayaking, cycling, canoing, fishing, historic sites, live theater, music, tours.

5) Easy Access: On major air routes; 4 ferries; Trans-Canada Highway. Good roads make the whole province accessible.

6)  Museums: Believe it or not museums here are a big draw. Some travelers come to Nova Scotia from as far away as Australia just to sit in a deck chair from the RMS Titanic and visit the gravesite for many of the victims. In addition, the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic has a turn of the century cable-laying vessel and there is the last Corvette – HMCS Sackville – in existence.
