A wonderful glimpse into a man and his heart. Dixie was one of just a few people I will always remember with love, AWW, and amazement. His strength, determination, talent and life is still a model for me of what I can achieve and what others who face disabilities can accomplish . Especially with all the love, and unconditional support from friends and family that he drew to himself. He was a great gift to me and still helps me with my work with special needs children. Your story is awesome and thank you for writing it so I could see a little more of a great souls journey.

A powerful and moving story, Kim. Too short, for a big life but maybe it is fitting in that his life seemed to be a lot of small, meaningful bites. Also a real nice addition to the recent facebook tales.

Thanks Chris H! I didn’t know they made 1/4 inch to mono rca adapters but they had one at Radioshack for $3.19. I plugged it into my m audio pedal and it works a charm! Wish I’d known this sooner.

I have a Kustom 88 stage piano that we used on road tours with our high school jazz group in the 1980′s. It is pretty fair condition, but it needs a good home. Anyone interested? Photos on request. All reasonable offers considered…we ar located in Upper Michigan. BTW, the pedal works!

I bought one with no sustain pedal as well. So I tried the sustain pedal to my Roland synth (with a 1/4″ to RCA adaptor plugged into the end of it) and it works perfectly. You DON’T need to get it re-wired or find an original one. Just get a Roland-type sustain (the Yamahas have the polarity reverse, so they’ll work backwards) and you’ll be good to go.

It is with great sadness to announce the death of my dad Johnny burgoyne he passed the other day after a short battle with cancer he had no pain and giged right up till the end.
